Exclusively for Maybankers, all 10 Mentors nominated by the #MYouths were successfully auctioned off to a pool of Mentees in just half an hour! Armed with bidding paddles, the Mentees bid for their desired mentors using Mentoring Hours, keeping in mind that they’d also need to commit their hours to a social cause of the Mentor’s choice. The Mentors come in various forms - from #MYouth Council members to Heads of Departments to EXCO members! It’s not about title; Mentoring can also be from a peer. Though only 10 walked away with Mentors, the rest were looking forward to more opportunities like this and look forward to the next one.
Why did I bring this episode to life?
I curated this Episode with the intention to create a safe space for youths to seek the mentorship they desire and make it more accessible than they are now within Maybank. We have Maybank leaders who are willing to dedicate their time and commitment for the growth of young talents and it was a matter of providing that platform to connect these Mentors to the Mentees who want it and what a better way to start than with our own #MYouth community.
