"Power distance should be something of the past and we look to break that barrier. Young people should not be afraid to voice out their ideas as at times, good ideas come from those that have not done it before"
To dive deeper into this question, we invited Datuk Nora our Group Human Capital Officer and Dr Siew Chan Cheong, our Group Chief Strategy Officer to hear their viewpoints on this query that many have. Datuk Nora was sure to highlight that she appreciates the unique perspectives the youths have. As a human, viewing things from our own lens, we may overlook certain angles that others may see quite clearly. Though not everybody can be taken into the Strategic Programmes full-time, there are small efforts that Dr Siew highlights that everyone can have an active role in that cumulatively would have a significant impact. Namely, raising a pertinent issue and taking the initiative to understand the root of the problem and actively work towards solving it. With confidence, Datuk Nora and Dr. Siew both strongly encourage Maybankers to speak up and break down silos in collaborations.
