Three inspirational young Maybankers from Maybank Malaysia, Singapore and Indonesia shared their perspectives on how they kickstarted their career and made an impact in the early stages of their profession. Fairuz from Maybank Malaysia shared his nuggets of wisdom that we should take charge in creating our own opportunities to allow ourselves to grow, especially when the opportunities are not present in front of us. Our panelists understand the doubt and anxiety that comes with entering the workforce where one is surrounded with many knowledgeable individuals, in which Juliani from Maybank Singapore expresses the importance of not letting other people put you down. Her piece of advice is that the more others say you can’t do it, the more you should prove it to them that you are capable of it. As for hurdles that they faced in the workplace, Maya mentions that dealing with a generational gap is also a learning process as in the workplace, it is an invaluable skill to be able to work together with people of various ages. All in all, although it may be daunting as a new entrant to the workforce, everyone is capable of creating their success.
