And that's the end of the Episode! Harry and Morley were amazing in giving awareness of Deaf culture to the participants and how they can best communicate or interact with Deaf individuals. We also played a mini-game using VGC (Visual Gesture Communication) where the participants had to guess the answer to what Harry was acting out. At the end of the session, some of the participants volunteered to have a dialogue with Harry to test their knowledge using the basic sign language vocab they have learned during the session.
In this Episode, you were exposed to those who are deaf and with hearing impairments in our community, by learning more about the history, language, and subculture of the deaf community in Malaysia. Through this workshop, you learned introductory sign language so that you can help to bridge the communication gap with the hearing impaired to create a more inclusive community.
