It's a wrap! Our "Eat & Meet" lokal merchant bazaar was buzzing with roughly 800 visitors in less than 3 hours! From tacos to (sold out) tepung pelita, Maybankers were able to enjoy variety of food and beverages specially made by our local businesses. Some Maybankers made new connections with the merchants while some lucky others managed to walk away with Sama-Sama Lokal vouchers for their future online purchases! My heart felt very full hearing all the happy feedback from the merchants and the compliments they got from our fellow Maybankers.
I wanted to give Maybankers and Sama-Sama Lokal vendors a chance to interact to not only give the vendors more exposure but to introduce new eats to Maybankers. Sama-Sama Lokal is one of my favourite Maybank initiatives- it embodies the Malaysian "sama-sama" spirit which was helped us get through the darkest of Covid-19 times. I also hope this served as a chance for Maybankers to have a conversation with them about their journey to where they are now, and their products.
